While I was up north in Broome I saw heaps of live music. My favourite one was definitely Eli Wolfe. The first time I saw him playing was on the last day of the Shinju Matsuri Festival. There were a few bands playing, but this one amazed me the most, so I decided to write about it. I think it’s important to support things like that as it is sometimes very hard to find some good and honest (live) music.
Eli is one of those musicians you just have to like. It’s only him and his guitar on the stage. He doesn’t need a lot more – you’ll know what I’m talking about when he starts playing on his 12 string guitar. It feels like he’s losing himself in the music and is definitely having lots of fun on the stage.
After I’ve seen him a second time in Broome at Matso’s, I even had to buy a CD. For $20 it is definitely worth its price. The day after this concert I was sitting on the Greyhound down to Coral Bay for about 17 hours which was a lot more pleasant with some good music in my ear.
I’m back down in Denham at the moment and what did I read on facebook?? Eli Wolfe was going to play in Denham. Haha I’m not completely sure who’s following who at the moment, but I was just really happy about these news.
The concert – as usual – was really good and everyone had a good time. Eli is still touring through Australia, check it out on facebook! He is playing on the festival called ‘one movement’ in Perth, don’t miss it when you’re there.
His album fits into so many situations and moods; I play it a lot…his music just makes me happy.
Have a chat with him and Dom, they have great stories to tell.
Enjoy the music!!
